Overview

The Senior Manager, Product and Vendor Marketing contributes to REI’s success by leading the development and execution of highly strategic, customer-centric product and partnership marketing that drives growth and engagement for REI. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to lead, influence and design strategies that differentiate REI and deepen engagement to fuel the business, the brand and customer experience. Exceptional leadership, coaching and people management skills are critical in leading this team.


Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • As a strategist, you will develop and execute highly strategic product and vendor marketing strategies that drive growth and engagement for REI.

  • Bringing your multi brand retail product marketing expertise, you will develop, drive and optimize our product marketing strategy to define priority products to market, craft positioning and messaging to drive action with customers and members, and inform marketing approach to achieve results.

  • Innately curious about the customer, you will translate market, consumer, product, and competitive research and insights into leading strategies with the highest possible return for the business and utilize that data to measure the effectiveness and refine product marketing strategies.

  • As a relationship strategist, you understand the role partners play to drive mutually beneficial results. You will work with your team to design partnership strategies with our priority vendors and strategic brand partners to drive incremental revenue, brand awareness, and engagement. This includes informing our pipeline of partners, negotiating terms, and managing partner marketing programs while building and maintaining strong relationships with our partners.

  • With an entrepreneurial mindset, you will oversee our vendor marketing program to drive incremental demand and innovate omni channel opportunity for vendors to ensure exceptional vendor relationships and shared business outcomes.

  • With a track record of proven cross divisional leadership and influence, you will collaborate across Marketing, Merchandising, Retail, Digital to build develop and launch new products and services.

  • Ability to design and model process and operational excellence across teams

  • Develop and manage budgets and forecasts.

  • Immersed in cultural, consumer, and outdoor industry trends to influence product and partnership strategies and outcomes

Qualification

  • 10+ years experience in Retail / Brand / Product / Partnership roles with strategic responsibilities and leadership, with deep experience working inside of a multi-brand retailer
  • 5+ years experience leading teams and setting strategic vision that guides and shapes their work
  • Case studies demonstrating experience establishing short term operational plans and goals and elements of mid-term operational strategies, plans or goals for a department
  • Expert knowledge driving strategy across a full range of product inclusive of Full Price, Value, franchises and energy products. Strategy development around product positioning that spans multi-year, annual, and seasonal timeframes.
  • Deep experience in partnership strategy and marketing between a retailer, endemic, and non endemic brands in that retailers orbit and beyond it. Ability to identify, create, and enhance value exchange in partnership.
  • Proven track record of identifying, building and maintaining partner relationships from the inception through execution
  • Expert knowledge of business partnership function and competencies including: Strategic planning, program management and measurement, brand communication, customer insights, direct marketing, membership loyalty, customer retention, digital marketing
  • Ability to create and clearly articulate a compelling vision and strategy and build influence and alignment across teams.

Pay Range

$122,800.00 - $208,700.00 per year
