As a SMU Footwear Developer, you are in charge of managing footwear projects from establishment of the tech package to final confirmation. The projects you are overseeing are inclusive of in-line, Rider samples, sales samples and product confirmation samples-category respective. In this position, you are responsible for the timely confirmation of projects in the Developers respective category and support the commercialization/production effort. How You Will Make a Difference

What you will do:

You will collaborate with design, merchandising and Asia development to deliver product objectives and meet calendar timelines. You will maintain target go-in margins while working proactively to achieve them. You will have the opportunity to furnish footwear coordinator with accurate, timely project information in support of the footwear development line list within Flex PLM.

How you will do it:

Effectively evaluate materials for cost, physical characteristics, and function to specify appropriate materials for development projects and ensure cost-effectiveness. Work effectively with fit and wear testing to ensure the integrity of the design is maintained while high levels of quality and performance are achieved. Provide clear and written verbal communication regarding product, allowing VF staff to execute accordingly.

What success looks like:

Success in this role will be working with the US and Asia development teams to deliver on time products to accounts based on the global and SMU calendar dates. This includes getting out DSR’s in a timely manner and confirming and updating PLM before close of sales dates.

Skills for Success

Years of Related Professional Experience: 5+ years

Educational Position Requirements:

A formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

  • Strong computer skills
  • Cross-cultural communication skills

  • Follows through with all tasks, assignments, and job duties in a timely manner

What we will teach you:

  • How to work in and use Flex PLM
  • How to build BOM’s in Flex PLM
  • How to develop across all genders and categories of footwear Vans produces
  • How to work with multiple Regions building and managing your own line of products

Pay Range:

$69,984.00 USD - $104,976.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential:

This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
