Job Definition (Key Purpose of the Job): This position is responsible for identifying seasonal buys for the assigned EC product group based on the understanding of brand direction, category strategy, consumer preference and market trends.
Key Result Areas :
The EC Buyer is responsible for:
• Identifying EC market-specific seasonal opportunities and priorities based on consumer insight and industry trends
• Developing the category strategy, and top seasonal initiatives specifically for ECOM
• Finalizing the Asia Pacific buy plans, ensuring they are within the financial budget, and address consumer needs for EC platform
• Developing the seasonal launch plan by month and consumer moments
• Provide retail point of view to support marketing activities
• Reviewing production order adjustments as needed (along with Demand Planning Team)
• Supporting the development of the conceptual assortment plans by determining key product attributes, reviewing bulk quantities and conducting the Pre-buy meetings
• The on-going monitoring of the business through analytics/insights and identify actionable opportunities in EC platform
• Supporting the Training Team to conduct seasonal product training to our EC Ops staff
• Work with the wholesale team to influence partners and distributor’s buy plan on alignment of line and RSP control
• Collaborate closely with DTP/DTC/EC team on specified moments/activities
• Participate in store visits (internal) and competitor market visits (external) to understand retail trends and consumer needs
• Travel across Asia Pacific and internationally as required
The EC Buyer will partner with the Retail Planning and Allocation Teams by:
• Developing and executing the category, market, in-store and campaign strategies based on analytics and market intelligence.
• Supporting the development of the merchandise financial plans, executive strategy and seasonal retail targets
• Supporting the assortment plan development
• Supporting the development of the product flow strategy and plan according to regular and consumer moments
• Reviewing the allocation plan
• Supporting the in-season management/open-to-buy process
The EC Buyer will partner with the Design, Product and Merchandising Teams by:
• Prepare seasonal brief to Design, Product and Merchandising Teams, according to current sales performance, consumer feedback and trend knowledge to ensure the product line meets retail needs
• Provide feedback during Sketch/Proto meeting, make recommendations for improving the assortment for the EC platform
• Provide Competitors feedback on RSP on platform
The EC Buyer will partner with the Visual Merchandising Teams /Creative content /Brand marketing by:
• Merchandising and schematics/floor plans for maximum volume impact and visual presentation
• Alignment in product launch and marketing executions
• Effective Banner
• Relevant contents and photo
• Brand story telling
