What will you do?

A day in the life of a Automic Automation Developer at VF looks a little like this.

This exciting opportunity requires a person who understands and supports enterprise scale Automic automation environments. In this role, the candidate will be part of the global operations team and responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting a complex enterprise automation, batch solutions. The focus of this position includes daily support functions, ongoing maintenance, performance monitoring, project work and the continuous availability of the Automic environment globally at VF.

The ideal candidate will act as a thought leader capable of communicating clearly and comfortably within the global operations team as well as with other technical and non-technical teams.

This role will be at the forefront as we work to continuously improve efficiency, stability and user experience. A successful candidate for this position must possess both a deep and wide background in digital and cloud technologies. This is a leader in the support of a modern digital platform who will enable our business by providing initiative, drive, and dedication towards ensuring governance, stability and enhancements are maintained and improved within the environment.

As a key member of the team, the candidate is expected to lead with purpose and should be comfortable handling the pressure of supporting a global enterprise platform while meeting high expectations in a demanding but rewarding role.

  • Proactively monitor/maintain Automic environment ensuring stability and performance of the environment
  • Manage, coordinate, and implement upgrades of Automic components
  • Develop, analyze, maintain, and troubleshoot batch environment workflows across all applications and platforms globally.
  • Automation related solutions for various integration, project, and operational needs
  • Create/modify scripts, alerts, events, dashboards, and complex calendars to perform business functions and operational tasks for any scheduling design and implementation.
  • Involved with database administration tasks for development, security, backup and maintenance efforts
  • Perform root cause analysis and log information for reporting and awareness of critical path batch delays
  • Provide on-call support as part of operational team
  • Provide effective solutions to ensure successful delivery of batch and integrated processing
  • Work as a team and be held accountable as a team

What do you need to succeed?

Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 5 years of experience and professional achievements

Years of Related Professional Experience: 5+ years

Educational/ Position Requirements:

  • Experience working in large global enterprise environment
  • Expert level knowledge of Automic Workload Automation is a must
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions, python or perl scripting is preferred
  • Should have working understanding of Windows, Unix, Linux, and PostgreSQL
  • Strong understanding of change management, ITIL, and continuous improvement processes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and time constraints
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills are required; ability to apply systems knowledge to troubleshoot and analyze new issues is critical
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently with a proactive working style
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Hiring Range:

$76,000.00 USD - $95,000.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
