Position: Sr. Financial Analyst, FP&A

Department: Finance

Work Location: Hybrid (work 3 days onsite)

Hybrid Schedule: Helen of Troy associates enjoy the advantages and flexibility of a hybrid working model, allowing for in-office 3 days minimum, and remote 2 days. Any changes to this working model will be communicated accordingly.

What you will be doing:

The Sr. Financial Analyst will contribute to achieving the organization’s short and long-term goals by providing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, operational analysis, and focused ad-hoc analysis to support fact-based decision-making.

  • Analyzes financial information to support/produce forecasts and annual plans, including cost centers, product lines, and international markets.

  • Draw out key insights and themes through detailed analysis.

  • Ongoing and ad-hoc analysis.

  • Ability to articulate findings to immediate and senior leadership.

  • Lead key business partnerships with cross-functional leaders to help drive financial stewardship.

  • Establish an annual budget with responsible cost center owners, adhering to the overall strategic vision of the organization.

  • Lead all aspects of ongoing cost center variance analysis and reporting.

  • Conduct monthly review meetings with responsible cost center owners to understand key variance drivers.

  • Manage quarterly cost center forecasts.

  • Respective cost center budgets are established within guidelines and by results.

  • Cost center forecasts are updated per the FP&A calendar.

  • Prepares internal monthly/quarterly reports for distribution, including sales by customer, product lines, and international markets.

  • Generate internal management reporting package.

  • Support External Reporting requirements.

  • Management reporting completed per corporate accounting close calendar.

  • External reporting completed per external reporting’s filing schedule.

  • Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) and Hyperion reporting (including FRS) subject matter expert.

  • Understand and improve the Oracle Business Intelligence system for standard and ad hoc reporting.

  • Understand and leverage Hyperion reporting for standard and ad hoc reporting.

  • Craft and maintain reporting in FRS.

  • Strong ability to demonstrate the systems to support other core responsibilities.

  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information discrepancies.

  • Prepare Oracle Journal entries for recurring allocations and needed true-ups.

  • Prepare as needed Hyperion top side adjustments.

  • Recurring journal entries established and sent to corporate accounting prior to the first closing of the fiscal year.

Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.

  • Effectively handle several projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written with an executive presence.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Work independently and as part of a team, tackling new tasks with high levels of difficulty.

  • Must be able to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of work project(s).

  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related profession/field.

  • 3-5+ years’ experience in a finance position.

  • Proven experience with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or CMA certification.

  • Oracle and Hyperion superuser.

  • FRS knowledge.

  • Consumer goods experience.

  • Public company experience.
