Your Job:
The Apparel Costing Analyst drives the Apparel Costing function on the Brooks’ Apparel Development team. You will partner with the US and Asia Development teams to identify, prioritize, and implement cost savings initiatives to hit product target FOBs and Margin. You will provide on-time, accurate, and reliable costing information on multiple products/seasons simultaneously. You will analyze and audit factory cost sheets for accuracy and negotiate cost improvements. The Senior Costing Analyst must be experienced with Apparel manufacturing and sourcing processes and have a track record of successful negotiations and strong analytical, organization, and communication skills. Primary activities to support the successful costing process include calendar development and management and data analysis and reporting.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Work with factory partners and vendors using costing processes and standards on cost finalization for SPS and Production
  • Partner with the Development Managers on the use of costing tools for Triad teams to identify costing tradeoffs and enable better decision
  • Receive and input cost sheets for all Brooks Apparel at a seasonal level, ensuring on time and accurate costing at each stage of development
  • Audit cost sheets for inaccuracies and inconsistencies and research and resolve audit findings with the Apparel Leadership Team
  • Improve existing costing processes and policies in partnership with the Development Managers, standardizing costing processes across factory partners and vendors
  • Support the overall product costing framework and strategy in collaboration with the Apparel Leadership Team
  • Work to costing guidelines and standards that provide costing feedback and inputs into the design of new products and materials.
  • Identify key cost drivers and keep management informed of potential margin impacts
  • Support the Director, Apparel and Bra Development to facilitate costing negotiations with vendors, by identifying opportunities on final costs that deliver against our margin and wholesale cost requirements and to enable on time review and sign off on all product final FOBs
  • Identify opportunities for cost improvements share findings with Development Team to determine viability of capturing cost savings
  • Learn the cost drivers of Apparel Development and production across the Apparel Team to enable and empower better decision making to increase margins
  • Communicate with the Trade Compliance team to ensure correct duty rates are utilized in costing
  • Analyze and communicate seasonal performance metrics for on-time commercialization including interpretation of performance and recommendations for process improvements
  • Support the Development Managers and Sourcing and Operations teams to make optimal joint sourcing/costing decisions including tooling levels and product allocations to factories
  • Report costing and margin performance seasonally including further analysis of lead time, labor, and shipping to provide full overview of seasonal performance and opportunities to improve
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in apparel development, design textiles or related field; may be substituted with relevant experience
  • 3 years in apparel product development, sourcing, or merchandising
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing including development, sourcing, business planning and functional responsibilities
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Adobe Illustrator and FlexPLM
  • Ability to analyze test information and provide subjective feedback in a concise and understandable manner
  • Ability to work professionally and efficiently within the team and across departments.
  • Proven initiative and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening through concise, clear verbal and written communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust resulting in effective working relationships across the company
  • Demonstration of innovation and initiative – always looking at improving our products and processes while displaying a willingness to dive into the details and help wherever necessary

Compensation:
The pay range for this position, based out of the Brooks Seattle HQ, is $58,566 - $87,899 per year. Base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
