What you will be doing:

The Marketing Specialist, reports into the VP of Marketing, works with the Brand Managers and Marketing Directors to help plan, administer and manage marketing projects and activities, supporting the efforts of the Retail Beauty marketing department.

This individual will have exposure to working with global brands such as Hot Tools and Revlon and will become a specialist in the Retail Beauty business and product offering.

  • Assist with marketing support activities for the Retail Beauty Marketing Team as needed in preparation for customer meetings, sales meetings, executive reviews, etc. This includes development of internal and external presentations (customer meeting Power point decks, sales meeting presentations).

  • Partner closely with the VP of Marketing to help plan, implement and monitor activities of the business, ensuring deadlines are respected within the department.

  • Work with marketing and Sales Vice Presidents to plan and organize company sales meetings.

  • Manage all aspects of Trade Show participation, including conference attendance coordination and the development and production of materials (hand-outs, brochures, physician office materials, trade show materials, banners, etc.). Ensure that all materials and samples are packed and shipped for on-time set-up.

  • Manage all vendor activities for printing, storage and shipment of necessary materials. Organize and manage post show activity including ensuring that samples and materials are shipped and expenses are processed.

  • Conduct monthly reviews of departmental budgets to ensure alignment of spend and planned activity, working closely with brand managers and finance personnel. Handle monthly spend tracking, accruals and department invoicing.

  • Responsible for conducting store and on-line audits when vital during the season, purchasing of samples, helping to gather competitive information, conduct competitive reviews for marketing and sales managers, develop presentation materials. Also, for competitive analysis, will provide sales team with top line comparisons to help understand key points of difference.

  • Initiate projects with the creative department by submitting detailed initiation forms for package development (or other creative materials), help coordinate artwork approvals as necessary.

  • Provide administrative support to the Retail Beauty Marketing team. Activities may include sample coordination, licensing submissions, proofing assistance, item setup, marketing claim substantiation tracking, product certification administration, and other special projects.

  • Resourceful, positive attitude, displays a strong desire to take initiative

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, able to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Flexible, versatile and comfortable working with changing priorities and tight deadlines, able to prioritize tasks and responsibilities accordingly

  • Able to identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner using creativity and good judgment

  • Outstanding writing skills; ability to present information in a way that is audience appropriate and concise

  • Work in a proactive manner, eager to learn new skills and find creative solutions to challenges while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor under pressure

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 6 + years experience in marketing, sales or project management department

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (with expertise in PowerPoint and Excel)

  • Proficient in conducting web searches and familiar with various social media platform

  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS Publisher
