What you will be doing:

The Senior Manager, Brand Marketing will be responsible for managing and growing Drybar’s brand by deploying focused marketing programs across the existing assortment, as well as managing overall brand campaigns/partnerships to keep elevating the brand. As brand champion, this role will partner closely with sales, channel marketing, digital, social, ecommerce (and other cross-functional partners), internal creative teams and agency partners to implement coordinated 360 marketing plans. Furthermore, they will play a key role in brand positioning work, SKU optimization and architecture development.

This role will require a deep knowledge in marketing and the prestige beauty business and will need to bring strategic agility, out of the box thinking, creativity, strong influencing and leadership skills, organization, disciplined communication, bias for action and strong interpersonal skills. All of this will support the mission to grow net sales, volume and to develop a world class brand that delivers profitable growth.

  • Partner with brand team and others cross-functional partners in Marketing, Sales and Product Development teams to architect and optimize a coordinated marketing plan inclusive of product, packaging and communications strategies and tactics that enables the brand to claim and maintain an ownable position in the marketplace.
  • Use consumer research and insights, competitive intelligence, and old fashioned “gut instinct” to identify new opportunities and needs in the market to support the expansion, customization, and optimization of existing products, the introduction of new products, and consumer segmentation initiatives.
  • Champion the brand’s strategic positioning and architecture as needed - demonstrating deep understanding of key brand personality traits, as well as a keen understanding of a constantly evolving driven, retail and customer environment.
  • Develop and implement brand/product marketing programs and activations that accurately drive growth and overall awareness in partnership with internal creative and external agency partners.
  • Bring brand strategy to life through creative development and execution with key cross functional partners – via brand building and awareness campaigns in all channels
  • Partner with digital/ecommerce team to develop a national media plan and work closely with agencies to deploy media strategically.
  • Drive profitable growth across all categories within area of responsibility including the margin health of the portfolio in collaboration with the Marketing team and key leaders in Sales and Product.
  • Use sales data, research and insights, etc. to understand market trend, identify new marketplace opportunities and consumer trends to drive growth
  • YOY growth and improvements in channels – Targets to be established on an annual basis
  • Build and manage a highly effective, outstanding, global brand marketing organization by hiring, training, motivating, and setting leadership direction for all direct reports.
  • Nurture a collaborative and customer focused Marketing community, cross-functionally, within the organization
  • Review and improve, where necessary, all marketing processes, measurements, information systems, etc., that enable the overall marketing function to operate efficiently and effectively

Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Be consumer obsessed and possess strong consumer understanding
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of the retail/beauty landscape
  • Experience with external agencies (i.e., Creative) and brand ambassador partnerships
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, independence, pro activeness and ownership, embracing both big picture objectives and follow-through on details.
  • Exhibit a keen ability to handle a multitude of projects at one time, be proactive, hands on and handle pressure in a fast-paced business.
  • Strong brand management skills and follow-through on details
  • Ability and maturity to manage a multitude of projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, self-starter, ability to drive and manage programs independently
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and deliver multiple products or services concurrently under time constraints.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and project management skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Business, Marketing, International Business
  • 7+ years of proven experience in CPG, Beauty, or Fashion
  • Experience working in brand management in prestige beauty highly desired and with key prestige retailer accounts (i.e., Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom, Macy’s)
  • Passionate about the beauty industry and trend savvy
  • Strong Analytical skills including ability to translate reports
  • Strong Digital Literacy: Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook
  • P&L Management, financial skill including strong analytical ability
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
