Job Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (.25) FTE (10 hours) Lab Assistant for the Sustainable Tourism Lab on the OSU-Cascades Campus. This limited duration appointment is set to end on December 31, 2023, but may be able to extend beyond that date if additional funding is secured. This position will be located in Bend, OR.

The Project Manager provides administrative and logistical support to the lab by performing record keeping, schedules, timelines and general client support to lab projects.

Key Responsibilities
50% – Work with project stakeholders with logistics and support project team to hit key milestones. Duties include but are not limited to preparing schedules, working project management software, and coordinating with partners.

25% – Coordinate budget and resources to ensure key milestones are achieved in line with budget expectation. Duties include but not limited to are working with excel budget, coordinating with OSU Research Office and accounting.

15% – Other duties as assigned based on project needs and opportunities.

10% – Support team on data collection and organization.
What We Require

Training or experience demonstrating the a) knowledge of basic laboratory techniques; b) knowledge of laboratory terminology, equipment, and materials; c) knowledge of basic math; d) ability to follow formulas accurately; e) ability to handle, package, and store laboratory specimens and materials; f) ability to operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment; g) ability to learn routing testing methods, procedures, and techniques; h) ability to keep accurate records in conformance with laboratory procedures; and i) ability to follow written and verbal instructions.High school courses, in chemistry, biology, mathematics, or any course which included laboratory work, are considered qualifying.

What You Will Need
Experience with project management software, excel and other information systems.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
