Manager, Omnichannel & Store Solutions

As the Manager of Omnichannel and Store Solutions, you will play an important role to support and improve our in-store/omnichannel technology & processes in order to drive the growth of our retail business. Working across the Vans Store Operations, eCom and Digital departments as well as the VF Digital Technology organization, this role will be key in both driving the delivery of new tools & capabilities, as well as governing & supporting our existing technology portfolio. Your experience of in-store technology, omnichannel and the respective processes – along with the ability to think conceptually, problem solve practically, and work collaboratively – will set you up for success in this role.

You will report into the Director of Omnichannel & Retail Technology and be a key player on our journey to become consumer centric, hyper digital and DTC-led.

How You Will Make a Difference

What you will do:

  • Partner with our Vans Store Operations department to identify opportunities for new tools, capabilities and overall process improvements and put together the analysis & business case to support the necessary investment; contribute to, and influence, the Vans Digital & VF Digital Technology roadmap within the in-store technology/omnichannel space and enterprise solutions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in all in-store retail systems (POS, Inventory Management, etc.).
  • Serve as the Vans lead / project manager on the implementation of new in-store/omnichannel tools, and enterprise capabilities & processes – liaising across the various Vans stakeholders and interfacing the with respective leads from the VF Digital Technology team. This includes aligning project timelines & stakeholders, serving as a super user, performing testing, and delivering training.
  • Support and contribute to development of omnichannel project deliverables (process documentation, requirements, testing, user feedback) as the in-store system & process subject matter expert, from project concept to development.
  • Support the growth and maximization of our current omnichannel capabilities through analysis, research and continues enhancements.
  • In partnership with the VF Digital Technology team, govern & support our existing retail store technology portfolio by: (1) Facilitating ticket creation & resolution, (2) identifying & prioritizing needed change requests, (3) coordinating system updates/enhancements, (4) maintaining training materials and (5) serving as an overall expert to support the Vans Store Operations department for ad hoc queries.
  • Oversee procurement and coordination of all technology hardware for new stores, relocations, and remodels, in addition to pilot programs and ad-hoc experiments.
  • Building and managing relationships with technology vendors, and keeping those vendors accountable for deliverables.
  • As a member of a broader team also responsible for Retail Merchandising and enterprise solutions, support additional projects and tasks outside of the store technology/omnichannel space, where needed.

  • Develop an intimate understanding of our current retail store operations technology landscape & processes, and the roadmap ahead.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders in the Vans Store Operations, eCom and Digital departments as well as the VF Digital Technology organization, Finance and Procurement.
  • Be curious about our retail business and the developments within our broader Vans & VF business; remain invested in continuous learning & discovery.
  • Establish clear communication & processes that work for you and your stakeholders.

What success looks like:

  • By serving as a key contact between the Vans Store Operations department and Digital / Technology organizations, driving clearer communication which delivers greater efficiency within the organization.
  • Timely resolution of incidents & tickets, as well as delivery of critical change requests, ensuring our Vans Store Operations department can drive our business results.
  • Ensuring the needs of the Vans DTC business are well represented when it comes to VF Digital Technology roadmap and annual priority & budget setting process.

Years of Related Professional Experience: 6+ years

Educational Position Requirements:

A formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

What we expect you already know:

  • You have a passion for people and achieving success as a team
  • You are experienced in retail store technology & omnichannel solutions, and are also well versed with the associated processes
  • Preferred experience specifically in SAP, covering in-store retail applications
  • You have extensive skills in Microsoft Excel
  • You are skilled at thinking conceptually, critically & analytically
  • You are a strong problem solver with a practical approach to getting the job done
  • You are an excellent communicator, both verbally and in written format
  • You bring a track record of successful project management and remain organized within a large organization when dealing with multiple stakeholders, initiatives and competing priorities

Hiring Range:

$112,320.00 USD - $140,400.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
