What you will be doing:

The FP&A Manager will be a leader within our Finance team responsible for providing financial analysis and decision-making support to ensure the company's long-term strategic objectives are met. The company culture thrives on an entrepreneurial drive and the ‘partner’ approach of its employees, so we are looking for a strategic business thinker, someone who can "be in the weeds" when needed, but also see the big picture and think creatively. This position will also be responsible for hiring and managing a small team of financial analysts to support our business unit's goals.

The position will report to the Director of Finance, supporting the Beauty & Wellness Business Unit with a focus on overseeing our Beauty Brands (Drybar, Revlon, Curlsmith, HotTools). The Manager, FP&A must act in a professional manner, have a high level of business insight, and possess the ability to lead and mentor newer financial analysts.

  • Steward of the P&L for the Beauty Business including the development and analysis of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and forecast vs. actual variances in all sections of the P&L

  • Become a subject matter expert for reporting various views of the business (Segment, RMO (Regional Market Organization), Brand)

  • Effectively discern and explain business results and communicate/present back to Brand Leaders and Leadership team

  • Support long-term strategy planning through partnering with Brand Leaders and executive leadership

  • Be comfortable within a Challenge and Be Challenged Culture by asking questions when something is not understood while also being challenged in a constructive way to help drive the team and business in a positive direction.

  • Find opportunities to improve financial models through new tools/applications (i.e. Power BI) and build/lead special projects to complete optimizations.

  • Review and publish monthly Management Reporting packages highlighting operational performance against plan/forecast with variance analysis for assigned brands and/or cost centers.

  • Ready to dive deeply into existing processes and models or create new ones, delivering improved results.

Management responsibilities:

  • Cultivate an outstanding Team Culture that promotes support and collaboration, individual ownership, action, and efficiency.

  • Hire a financial analyst / Sr. Analyst which includes the development of a job requisition, resume reviews, and interview scheduling.

  • Train and manage financial analyst(s) by identifying responsibilities, key competencies, and crafting development plans for career growth

  • Effectively delegate Ad hoc special projects, reporting, forecasting & analysis to subordinates with appropriate oversight.

Skills needed to be successful:

  • Positive attitude – team player and attention to detail is a must.

  • Leads by example while taking ownership of all aspects tied to their role

  • Ability to independently work in a fast-paced, very fluid/dynamic work environment.

  • Ability to handle confidential information.

  • Strong Interpersonal skills; verbal and written communication.

  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with an aptitude for problem-solving.

  • Strong System / Technical Skills with a preference for candidates who have demonstrated an ability and willingness to adopt new systems and tools.

Minimum requirements:

  • BS Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 7+ years of applicable experience

  • Advanced MS Excel skills

  • Ability to travel - 10% expected to UK

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA

  • Oracle R12, Hyperion Smartview, and Business Intelligence applications
