What you will be doing:

The Director of Supply Chain Systems is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, enhancements, support, and maintenance of enterprise supply chain systems and services at Helen of Troy. The position reports directly to the VP, of Global Enterprise Applications.

The primary role of this function is to partner with business and resource unit leaders to identify valuable application objectives, lead and run the associated applications team, and implement plans to collect the identified value.

The Director is responsible for large-scale global applications that include the company’s global warehouse systems, finance systems, supply chain systems, etc. The Director must be knowledgeable of good business processes as well as IT platforms in the CPG industry and be enthusiastic about driving ground-breaking change.

  • Partner with business leadership and other key collaborators globally to define opportunities and identify and prioritize IT projects based on predefined criteria (e.g., return on investment, productivity, compliance)

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Business Application team in assessing the near and long term. Enterprise application technology and process requirements; build a roadmap for the delivery of solutions in line with business priorities.

  • Direct multi-functional teams to assess processes and design solutions in accordance with industry-leading practices.

  • Provide consulting level support and guidance through key IT initiatives; proactively share knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness of all functions (Supply Chain, warehouse, Transportation, Quality, Finance, Inventory, etc.)

  • Operate as the key business contact representing IT in promoting IT services and capabilities.

  • Perform business needs analysis and collaborate on mapping of technical specifications.

  • Develop and implement function need-based solution roadmaps and ensure successful introductions across the target (organization and with customers)

  • Responsible for all aspects of project management, including the ability to plan and prioritize sophisticated environments, develop, and implement solutions, and report against project plans weekly/monthly including budget variance.

  • Propose, negotiate, and lead IT budgets in accordance with internal procedures, ensuring the best value and quality; Continuous focus on improving cost of delivery/service.

  • Plan and implement long-term and short-term IT policies/ controls in line with the business/ function priorities; Work closely with the global IT team to implement the corporate IT project locally.

  • Ensure robust contingency, risk management, and business continuity plans are in place and that these are coordinated during all technology transition plans (improvements / new)

  • Conduct awareness-building programs for employees to facilitate knowledge enhancement and improved functional and attitudinal effectiveness toward ongoing and new tools and applications.

Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Business Relationship management and partnering expertise.

  • Consistent track record of delivering timely and accurate results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, mathematical skills, and sound judgment.

  • Good eye for business and ability to communicate with non-technical counterparts.

  • Experience evaluating and strong knowledge of today’s digital technology ecosystem and capabilities with a mind to enable business value and transformation.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and passion to work within a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.

  • Experience with or driving production comparison evaluations via RFPs.

  • Very strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business operations /IT Applications or related field.

  • 10 years of directly related experience in an enterprise IT environment working with multiple teams and multiple locations.

  • 6+ Years in a leadership capacity managing multiple teams.

  • 6+ Years of Experience in any ERP systems

  • General understanding of infrastructure platforms and technologies, e.g., personal computers, servers, network, windows, active directory, etc.

  • Solid understanding of business operations in a global organization.

  • Flexibility to travel for up to 5-10% (both domestically & internationally)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree

  • Oracle/ERP, Manhattan WMS, Demand/Supply Planning, procurement systems deployment, and upgrade experience.

  • Experience selecting, integrating, and administering sophisticated third-party systems into ERP systems.
